Tories new housing commitment sees 300k fewer homes built

The Tories have announced they are pledging to building one million homes over 5 years

This might sound like a lot, but it’s actually a serious drop in their previous commitment of building 300k new build homes by 2025

We are currently building around 210k new homes a year. So firstly, this announcement is a drop from where we are right now.

In order to get to 300k homes from 210k over 5 years is an increase of about 20k a year.

Which would mean 1.3m new homes would have been built from now until 2025.

This new commitment means that 300k fewer homes will be built than their previous commitment.

The only way to guarantee the homes our country needs are built including, 100,000 council homes a years is to vote for real change and a Labour Government.
